You Have to Remember All that You Gain After a Breakup
Breakups are painful. Excruciating. All that loss and pain makes you crazy. You do things that probably you would not do normally, obsessive over the relationship constantly and wish bad things on your ex.
In the beginning, the loss is all you can think about. It is your first thought on waking and the last thing you think about before you fall asleep. You are constantly reminded throughout your day that loss is hitting you in tidal waves.
No dinner plans to make, no shopping trips to plan and no one waiting for you at home when you open the door.
Tidal waves. Somehow though, you slowly start to make your way to shore and on dry land again and then you start to move away from the ocean of loss that roars behind you.
As I did.
I gained a lot after my horrific breakup last year. So much, so that sometimes when I catch myself thinking about the warm and loving comforts of my last relationship, I also know that I would never trade that in for the life I have now.
Never.
Because this is life is better and I am not just saying that or posting on Instagram in the hopes that my ex…
